Principal Consultant, Hazelton Strategies
Catherine Hazelton is Principal Consultant at Hazelton Strategies, where she works with foundations, non-profits, and public sector organizations to design programs and implement strategies. From 2009-2016, Ms. Hazelton was a Senior Program Officer at the James Irvine Foundation where she helped design and lead several key initiatives including the Future of California Elections, the James Irvine Foundation Leadership Awards, and an effort to deepen public engagement in redistricting processes. Before joining Irvine, Ms. Hazelton was Associate Director of the nonprofit Fight Crime: Invest in Kids and served in both the capitol and district offices of California Assemblymembers Carol Liu and Jack Scott. She earned a master’s degree in public policy at the University of California, Berkeley, a bachelor’s degree in history at Scripps College, and attended Pasadena City College where she engaged hundreds of students in grassroots advocacy.
