As Orange County Jails Project Coordinator, Daisy Ramirez examines and assesses conditions of confinement in county jails and advocates on behalf of individuals in custody to ensure they have access to a basic standard of care. In 2017, she co-wrote Orange County Jails, a two-year investigative report by the ACLU SoCal Jails Project, revealing violent, abusive and unhealthy conditions in OC’s jails system. Prior to joining the ACLU, Ms. Ramirez received a Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Community Organization, Planning and Administration from the University of Southern California and her bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Chicago.
