Voting Rights Project Director, Asian Americans Advancing Justice
Deanna Kitamura is the Voting Rights Project Director at Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles, where she works on issues related to language access and voter protection. She serves on various committees, including the language accessibility advisory committees of the CA SOS and LA County ROV. Ms. Kitamura has worked on a number of election related legislation, including AB 817 (which allows lawful permanent residents to work as poll workers in California) and AB 918 (which strengthens CA’s language access statute). She graduated from Pomona College and UCLA School of Law.
