Registering to vote is the first step a voter must take to participate in our democracy and guide the future of their community. California laws, such as online voter registration, pre-registration and Same Day Registration make it easier for voters to get ready to vote, yet disparities continue across communities. FoCE worked with election officials and nonprofit partners to develop plain language resources to inform voters, especially traditionally underrepresented voters of these key reforms to support voter registration.
The resources found in the Voter Registration category provide best practices, are bolstered by research, and have been utilized by a wide span of partners, both government and nonprofit. While some of the materials are specific to an election cycle, they can be updated to current events to provide effective messaging and voter information.
